We judge with our eyes.

This is a quick thought about bias, diversity, ourselves, judgments and the point of pursuing intelligent cross-cultural engagement and careful cross-cultural communication. And let me start with a Bible story.

Before you shut me out, listen to what Jesus said to a self-righteous, religious, pillar-of-society leader. He had invited Jesus to a dinner party, and a woman will a poor reputation showed up, unannounced and uninvited. Her presence caused a social and cultural problem for the host, and he muttered some judgmental and ungracious comments.

The sentence in the story that I go back to is, "Jesus turned towards the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman?"

What do we see when we look at each other?
